Matthews Alive Festival

The Matthews Alive Festival is a Labor Day weekend celebration dedicated to the support of local non-profit organizations in the area. This celebration of community is packed with family activities, great food, arts, and entertainment. The net proceeds earned at the festival go back to these non-profit organizations to help support the local Matthews economy.

U.S. National Whitewater Center Labor Day Celebration

USNWC has no shortage of ways to get outside and explore with this year’s Labor Day Celebrations. Saturday morning kicks off the weekend with yoga and climbing competitions followed by River Jam. Sunday’s schedule includes the Labor Day 5K and 15K Trail Race, yoga, live music, and a firework display to end the weekend’s festivities.

Labor Day Weekend Tradition at Queen’s Landing

Celebrate the end of summer and Labor Day Weekend at Queen’s Landing in Mooresville. Bring chairs to watch the fireworks, sit under the stars, and hear the waves of Lake Norman. Gates open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $10.

Charlotte Kosher BBQ Championship

The 6th Annual Charlotte Kosher BBQ Championship will be celebrated on Monday, September 2 at the Levine Jewish Community Center. The event schedule consists of food eating contests, booth decoration contests, face painting, and live music and entertainment. Around the Crown 10K

Belk College Kickoff Weekend

The Second Annual Belk College Kickoff Tailgate Concert will feature country music star Chase Rice, along with special guests Tyler Farr, Filmore and Gyth Rigdon. The concert will take place on Friday, August 30, at Romare Bearden Park in Uptown Charlotte, leading into the 2019 Belk College Kickoff on Saturday at Bank of America Stadium. The University of South Carolina Gamecocks will face border rival the University of North Carolina Tar Heels to open the college football season in Charlotte.

2019 Charlotte Labor Day Parade

The 20th annual Charlotte Labor Day Parade will be held on September 2nd in uptown. The parade route and details can be found online. Labor unions, worker organizations, bands, businesses, car clubs, political candidates, civic groups are welcomed. Come out and honor and celebrate the accomplishments and remember the hardships of American Labor.

Third Annual Labor Day Celebration at Blue Blaze Brewing

Celebrate Labor Day weekend at Blue Blaze Brewing on Monday. Drink specials include pitchers of your favorite Blue Blaze beer for only $12 and food and entertainment will be provided all day. Cool down from the summer heat with water balloons, squirt guns, and other outdoor games.
